So I have become the butt of many jokes lately.....ok- that's not entirely true- I have become the butt of one joke only it's been told a gazillion times. Well- I'm not sure if gazillion is a number because a. I don't have smart glasses and b. I don't have a mensa card- hehehe. So my supposed BFF(you know best friend forever) found one of our private conversations so funny that she has made it her mission to share that conversation with the rest of the world. Now before I tell you what this is all about I feel as though I should fill you in on the fact that I am not a very confident person- meaning that I will often know the answer of something but for fear of being wrong and making a fool of myself I often question whether I'm right or wrong. Now when it comes to music titles and artists this fear DOUBLES! I know very little about music nor do I care to learn. So onto the story-----
a few weeks ago my BFF and I were sitting outside of the Cheesecake Factory(we were waiting- a 45 minute wait I might add- for a table at 9 o'clock at night because it was their 30th anniversary so a slice of cheesecake was only $1.50). Sorry I got sidetracked- so here we are sitting outside discussing the upcoming Poison concert(if my BFF were typing this she would have typed POISON because she's a little obsessed). Well- as you now know I know very little about music and when discussing various songs and artists from the hair band erra- I was referencing another group and becuase I doubt myself I decided to say "before I say anything I don't know if this is a group or a song title"-------(holding my head in shame) I was talking about Guns N'Roses......wait is it Guns and Roses or Guns N'Roses.......hehehe just joking:)
Ok, ok, maybe it wasn't the smartest thing I've said but I was taught that the only dumb question is the one you don't ask- and really if you can't be honest and ask dumb questions to your BFF who are you supposed to talk to?
stop laughing.
no really- stop laughing.
Ok- I'm being serious now- STOP LAUGHING!
Are you done yet? Ok- so yes- I may ask silly questions about topics I could care less about but hey at least I'm not wearing my high school cheerleader shirt to workout in! Did I mention that she graduated in '93? edited to add that I think she was actually on Poms so it was a poms shirt and not cheerleader- but hey we're in our 30s now so really does it make a difference?! The point is that she was wearing a shirt from high school!
Wow- now that I've typed this all out- that's really not payback. Actually- I think I should rethink this- maybe what she has on me is a funnier. Ok- start laughing at me again!
-by the way bff- did you notice the song playing? it's your favorite:)

My boys are getting old:)
So B* turned 32 last Friday and now C* is THREE! I can't believe it....honestly- it seems like it was just yesterday that he joined our family! I have truly enjoyed being a mom to a little boy. He is so rough, tough, active, and loud and yet he still cuddles and hugs me and smiles when he sees me which is such an awesome feeling. He really is a momma's boy which I secretly LOVE! Miss K* has been a daddy's girl from day 1 so it's only fair that my little man is mommy's boy! Don't worry girls(I mean K.C.)- I will enjoy it while he's young- once he's grown and married I won't let him be a mommy's boy anymore!
Each birthday reminds me of how lucky I am to have been blessed with motherhood- I think that it's an amazing honor that God has given me two beautiful children which he has entrusted in my care- hopefully I'm doing a good job- I don't want to let them down!
So- here's to all the other mom's out there- remember that your child's birthdays are celebrations for you as well- because it was on that day that you became a mother either for the first time or again- you still are one of the most important and influential people in that child's life and that is something that should not be overlooked!

Feeling Blue....
So I don't want to whine and mope to my family so all of you lucky blog readers get to hear it:) I am really feeling down about having lost the baby. Most of the time its ok- but not today- I found out one of our friends is pregnant with number three and is due in February. She has the cutest little bump and it just reminded me of how much I was looking forward to another little munchkin. Unfortunately- my dh and I are not on the same page and I know he is done. I don't mean to sound selfish becuase I respect his descision and I also know deep down that financially we should be done- but there is this silly little voice that keeps peeking out reminding me how much I want one more. I would love for K* to have a sister as much as I would love for C* to have a brother. Anyway, I don't want this to come across as though I am not happy for our friends becuase I am- tremendously- but at the same time it was really hard to hear that they are due the same time we were:(
Ok, ok- I'll stop- thanks for letting me cry to you:)

Visits from Family....
B* and I are always disappointed that no one ever wants to come and visit us.....I know we are the only ones out of state but hey it's not that long of a drive and we have SO much room! Our home is plenty big for get togethers but we just never have visitors:( Well that changed during the month of July!
It started out on July 11th when my cousin D* and his gorgeous fiance came in town(on their way to a camping trip with friends)....they let me have the priveledge of creating some beautiful engagement pics at one of the parks not far from our house......
then his sister and her family stopped by on July 20th on their way home from a camping trip and we had the opportunity for a quick visit with M*, her husband S* and their adorable little boy N*......

while Grandma and the kids made yummy brownies!
After devouring half the pan, we sat down for popcorn and a movie. We watched Spiderwick Chronicles which had a few scarey parts but they didn't seem to bother K* and C*(probably becuase they had Grandma and Grandpa there for extra protection:)

and during that same weekend Grandma and Grandpa stayed with us for a few nights while on their way to Nashville which was such a blessing! K* and C* do not get to spend enough time with their grandparents and they both had soo much fun! Grandpa and B* enjoyed a game of bowling on the Wii.....

Chocolate Doughnuts

K* and C* are very lucky because their Nan came across a recipe for the chocolate frosting used by bakeries to make cake doughnuts and passed the instructions onto their daddy. Well, Mommy has watched them make these doughnuts numerous times and yet I STILL can not make them! Every time I attempt it becomes a runny watery mess of sugary chocolate:( So I leave it up to Dad! Then again- he always has K* and C* helping out- they love to help pour and stir and rattle off the directions(which they know)......although I think their favorite part is licking the spoon and bowl clean!

K* chose a doughnut that was double dipped in chocolate and then coated with chocolate sprinkles.......

while her little brother C* went for the red/white/blue sprinkles. He decided to do a little dance in his chair as well which had the four of us in huge roar of laughter! He is quite the little ham when he wants to be.....
