Apple picking.....

We took the kids to the apple orchard on Sunday and had a fabulous time! We sampled a variety of types but the Cortland won with a 3 out 4 vote.......C* preferred the Golden Delicious because they are yellow like Bumblebee(the transformer)! The apples were perfectly juicy and refreshing in the hot afternoon sun:)

Isn't my family so cute? Every time I look at pictures of my husband and children- it makes me smile....I truly have been blessed and the thing that I am most thankful that God has given me is my family:)

The firestation tour....

What we saw....

Can you imagine what it's like to be in such heavy layers while battling the blaze of a fire?

Earlier in the week- C* and I went on a tour of a local firehouse with some friends. It was a great experience to get a behind the scenes tour of our everyday heros:)

A special THANKS goes out to all of the men and women around our amazing country that continue to risk THEIR lives to protect OURS!

New favorite song.....

Yes- it's Tuesday and I should be working but while working I had the Ellen show on in the family room and while I wasn't watching it I was listening and she recently got married and flew in a singer to her wedding.....a guy named Joshua Radin and he sang a song called Today! I think this may be my new favorite song- so turn up the volume on your computer and enjoy:)

Back to work I go.....be back later to post pics from our fire station tour-

Colts vs. Bears

So B*'s sister Aunt C* and J* came into town this afternoon to go to the Colts/Bears game with B*. I felt a little bad as my darling husband was going to have to attend the game with some CRAZY Bears fans all alone but unfortunately tomorrow is Monday and K* has school not to mention all of our babysitters also have school which just made it unrealistic for me to join them at the new stadium.
As you can see Aunt C* has a little obsession with hoarding as much Bears loot that she can get her hands on! When she goes to the games in Chi town she is decked out from head to toe(yes literally as she showed me her Bears fingernail stickers)in her Bears attire.

So it should have come as no surprise that she brought along some extra fun tattoos for her niece and nephew!
What's even better is that she brought some super yummy football brownies! Really- everyone needs an Aunt C* in their family! She really is the greatest:) She is always so thoughtful and so giving- my children(and family) are truly blessed to have her in our lives......(even if she's a Bear's fan).

So......the only thing I can't figure out is why such a huge Bears fan would bring these signs to the game?!

hehe!

Did you read about my BFF?

So a few people have told me that in order to get payback with my BFF who blabbed to the world about my innocent Guns N Roses comment I really need to post pics of her from highschool. So the other day I was thinking about how true this was and really I SHOULD post these pics. Those that didn't know my BFF and I met while building our last house and coincedintally grew up in the same town 3.5 hours away. Not only that but we went to highschool together- never having met! Well, that is probably because she was a senior when I was a freshman. Needless to say I don't have any pics of her from highschool but I do have a yearbook! So I marched upstairs to my guestroom closet where I pulled the yearbooks off the shelf. I proceeded to flip through the index until I found the pages containing her pics. I quickly headed back downstairs to the office and as I started to scan the images a thought occured to me.......if I have my highschool yearbook it is likely that she to has hers.......and if I scan these images and post them on my blog for the world to see than it is also likely that she will create a blog so that she can do the same.......so I have decided that it is in my best interests to NOT post these images. Funny as they are- it would be even more embarasing than the Guns N Roses comment should my pics from freshman year find their way onto the internet! Hope you all understand.....but hey......if you want to see what my BFF looked like many years ago.....you now know that I keep my yearbooks high on the shelf in my guestroom closet:)

Beating boredom.....

So K* was terribly bored this afternoon and after calling a few friends for a sleepover and finding no one home she had a bad case of boredom:(

Everything I suggested from playing a game, going on a bike ride, drawing, etc. was shot down.

So finally we decided to make "snot". Well, it's not really "snot" but that is what her dad has named it!

The only reason I got a few pics is because I told her if she wanted me to make the concoction than she would have to let me get some pics:) Lucky for me- she agreed!

If you want to make this for your kids- it's really easy- fill a bowl with corn starch, add water, and stir. It is a lot of fun to play with because as you compact it in your hands- it becomes solid but then as you open your fingers it melts and oozes everywhere. She also likes to make goop but we didn't have any glue:(
